Here are the mistakes 90% of producers make when sending a demo:

Take the time to make good music before sending it. You'll waste your time and the time of labels

  1. Don't send music that is not in the style of the label. So listen to the label's universe and get inspired by the structure and dynamics. However, you should also bring your personal touch to make your track unique.
  2. Activate the download on SoundCloud and don't delete the link
  3. Don't even send mass emails. For most labels, they are deleted automatically.
  4. Don't ask for feedback, because if you send your song it should be finished. You need to be confident with your sound. Unfortunately, artists and labels don't have time to give feedback.
  5. Don't have your song in public. If you send it to the labels it means you are sure of your sound and putting it out in public shows that you are not confident.
  6. Don't send Dropbox or Wetransfer links because it's a security for labels to not have viruses.
  7. Don't spam because you will end up spamming and your emails will be banned permanently. Send >2 times max.
  8. Don't include (Unmastered) in your title because it doesn't make it professional your sound must be ready.
  9. give a name to your song, don't put an ID name because it's unprofessional.
  10. Send your social media, as the labels will want to know if you have followers and what kind of audience you can bring them.
  11. Send several sounds so you can show your universe and your personal touch on several tracks. A label wants to know if you will last.

To finish: Labels don't invest in a track but on a person. Focus on creating quality tracks. I hope this advice helps you to see more clearly the mistakes. Some are obvious and others not. And above all, keep producing, it's the most important thing to perfect your sound.
